It’s called the LearnPad and it’s known as the only education-focused learning tablet on the school market. The LearnPad tablet supports tablet “apps”, websites and Flash based eLearning content. Using the LearnPad gives teachers and students efficient controls for videos, music, and documents in the classroom. LearnPad works effectively with your school’s existing network shares, so the curriculum resources and files already working stay in place. The LearnPad is designed to help teachers and students in the classroom, with management and learning apps that make sense for both groups.
A scannable assignment functionality on the LearnPad allows a particular school’s tech manager to assign units to individual locations. In an article at Teachthought about the LearnPad, one public school technology professional remarked that LearnPad includes a key capability that helps with her teachers’ jobs. Essentially, the tech pro said that an administrator could use the LearnPad in any connected classroom and immediately see which lessons are loaded for that class for that day or week. That’s ideal from a managerial point of view.
The LearnPad comes equipped with a range of pre-installed apps and different education lessons from publishers like Sherston, eChalk, Birchfield, Educationcity.com and others.
