There has been more exciting news coming out of InfoComm 2014 from our CCS manufacturing partner Samsung Electronics. The company announced the launch of its new QMD Series which brings 4K content to state-of-the-art UHD commercial displays. The QMD series promises to deliver an amazingly brilliant visual impact, while furthering the growth of 4K content in public spaces, retail establishments and entertainment venues.
These new slim models in the Samsung QMD Series offer full ultra-high definition resolution, a full four times higher pixel count than normal high definition screens. If your casino, retail space or business lobby is using digital content in attention-getting ways, then working with this new audio-visual solution is a great option. Users can display up to four content feeds at once, each supporting Full HD 1080 resolution. The Samsung QMD series can be used in movie production sets, corporate boardrooms or presentation centers, videoconferencing venues, retail and CAD/CAM design and command/control centers.
This amazing feature comes through the Picture Perfect option on the commercial displays. The QMD Series also supports full 60Hz content playback utilizing up to two DisplayPort 1.2 ports. Available through Samsung distribution partners starting in August, the QMD Series displays come in 55- and 85-inch models.
Another exciting move from Samsung at InfoComm 2014 was the expansion of its Smart Signage Platform display lineup with a new 21.5-inch DB Series commercial display to address demand for smaller digital signage solutions. Roughly the size of a sheet of tabloid paper, the new display offers a replacement for small static posters used for retail, restaurant, or corporate environments. It incorporates built-in WiFi, so power is the only cabling required for quick and easy installation.
Samsung’s InfoComm booth was also featuring its line of video walls showing gorgeous content like moving landscapes and other digital content. You can see some of the beautiful images displayed on 46-inch, thin-bezeled displays below.
